INCUBATION & ACCELERATION
We have two main annual incubation programmes: Impact Launchpad and the SDG Fellowship.
The Impact Launchpad is a 4 month incubator for start-up and pre-start-up impact ventures designed to support participants at ideation phase in order to prove concept, prototype their idea, develop viable business models, acquire financial literacy and launch their venture. It involves 4 learning modules, self-work, and mentorship, and participants get access to co-working space and our other support services to help connect them to our community and networks. The theme changes each year, with the theme in 2017 having been ICT for Impact, and the 2018 theme being Health and Wellness.
The SDG Fellowship is a 6 month programme that is focused on finding and incubating early stage (but post ideation) entrepreneurs working on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which the Impact Hub network works on and is aligned with globally. The SDG Fellowship is a small programme (max 10 participants) so that the impact entrepreneurs selected get maximum attention. It is light touch and designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. It is focused on what we have seen works in this space – access to the best entrepreneur coaches and practical learning modules designed to help with most common challenges faced by entrepreneurs and impact entrepreneurs in particular, coupled with space, support services and key connections needed for partnership and growth.
Our acceleration programmes are typically done in partnership with global teams, such as the recent Accelerate2030 programme that was completed in partnership with IH Geneva and the UNDP. These are geared towards later stage impact enterprises that need help scaling and taking their business to the next stage.
We can also develop tailored programmes depending on the needs of project partners, target cohorts, and specific themes and have already done so for partners such as WWF and Siemens. Contact us to learn more.
SHORT COURSES AND JUST IN TIME LEARNING
Just-in-time educational resources are available to entrepreneurs as the need arises. These are also based on blended learning principles: technology, video, and mentoring. In addition, we frequently run workshops from a few hours to a few days long focusing on specific topics. These are sometimes targeted to entrepreneurs, but also to the impact ecosystem at large. As we believe firmly in collaboration, many of these programmes are run by partners who use our space and our networks. Get in touch with us to learn more about the types of programmes that we host!
